Make your own liquid laundry detergent at home🧴🌍
Are you looking for a more natural solution to clean your laundry without resorting to plastic ? After trying several different methods like washing powder that you can mix with water or in liquid form directly in a bag, I decided to make my own homemade laundry detergent.
Making your own detergent is much better for your health, but also for the planet. It's a more responsible detergent with natural ingredients, which has no impact on the environment.
So I'm going to share this quick and easy recipe to make at home.
BASKET :
- 50g of Savon de Marseille shavings
- 30g of sodium bicarbonate
- 2 liters of water
- 15 drops of essential oil (in the fragrance of your choice)
- A 2.5 liter reusable jar or container
- A saucepan
- A spatula or a spoon (to mix your preparation)
METHOD :
First, bring the water to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat and add the soap shavings. Stir with a spoon for a few moments until the soap is well dissolved. Let the mixture cool for a few minutes. Once it has cooled, add the baking soda and mix again. When your lye is cool, you can scent it with a few drops of essential oils.
If you wish, you can mix your preparation with a blender. Finally, transfer your lye to a jar with a lid.
NOTES :
If you prefer not to buy soap already in shavings, you can use a cheese grater and a square of Marseille soap.
Clean your washing machine once a month with two yogurt cups of white vinegar. This will remove all the greasy residue from the soap.
When you make a machine, adapt the dosage according to the contents of your machine. This can vary between 1 and 2 pots of yogurt if it suits you.
